A satchel for him

A continual problem for me in my boutique and beehiveshop.com is finding great handmade items for men. (If you know any great handmade products for men out there - let me know!!!). So when I came across Rustico, an artisanal company out of Salt Lake City, I was thrilled. They are a leather goods company that still handmakes all their gorgeous journals, bags, and accessories. I love this satchel because it has a contemporary edge while maintaining that rugged feel and beautiful craftsmanship that just makes you want to touch it. So although Father's Day is a month or so away, keep this beauty in mind. It retails for $160 but will last a lifetime!

Architectural delights

When you go to a trade show it can be so easy to get completely overwhelmed and oversaturated. The last NYIGF was no exception for me. However, I usually leave with a few designers who have made a serious impression on me. Molly M Designs http://www.mollymdesigns.com/ out of San Francisco is a perfect example! I still remember how impressed I was at her exceptional use of lasercutting. You see alot of that nowadays - and mostly it's the less than inspiring "made in china" variety. Molly McGrath's work has a visual intricacy, delicacy and craftsmanship that I find delightful - not surprisingly she is an architect by training. Her layered designs are my favorite! Check them out on her website or here in Beehive NY because I'm just about to order some! Cherry Pic't for you!

Soft Buttery Leather

So did you miss me last week? I didn't think so! I was on vacation for a week in fabulous Paris. Talk about amazing stores, delightful wares and merchandising that made me drool. I came home inspired and with a handful of great finds. But in honor of the spring blooms and 85 degree weather I returned to here is a stateside designer, RobbieMoto, who crafts wonderful buttery soft wallets for both men and women. She can be found on Etsy and also at http://www.beehiveco-op.com/designers/products/RobbieMoto.asp.
