Not for the faint of heart!
I've been saving these darlings for those of you who are fans of kitsch. If you've ever been to my house you know that as much as we love haute design, my husband and I also love anything campy. I was treated to a lovely fawn for Valentine's Day. So if you can bear it, check out Cherrybox Studio... www.thecherrybox.com.

Let's cook!
So my niece who just turned 2 received a beautiful kitchen for her birthday! A play set of course and so with the holidays approaching I've been keeping my eye open for gifts for her. I was perfectly pleased when I came across Pickle Things on the www.beehiveshop.com - now the only question is Sushi or Pancakes? Check them out, they are the perfect creative play thing - beats the pants off video games!

Spot On
So... Spot On Designs is another great find from the NYIGF. Every time I see her work I just love the beautiful color and detail she pulls from the glass she works with. Penelope Rakov is the glass artist behind Spot On and is based out of Philadelphia. She designs and pulls her own version of venetian style murini, which she then incorporates into jewelry. I must say it looks good enough to eat! Check out her website www.peneloperakov.com.

A Modern Wallhanging
You can certainly see the passion for handmade in the work of Heather Knight of Element Clay Studio in Ashville, NC! I love how textural and alive her ceramics are and have been coveting these wall hangings aptly named Fungi, Turf and Hydrangea. Her work is another victory for those of us who love the combination of a modern design sensibility and inspiration from the natural world! Check out her offering at www.beehiveshop.com and at her website www.heatherknightceramics.com.
